San Francisco Tourist Pizza guide

North Beach -

        The Haight Ashbury

The pizza restaurants in the Haight I have divided into lower Haight and Upper Haight. The Haight is split at Divisadero street. Everything east of Divisadero is the lower Haight and West is the Upper Haight. The Haight Ashbury is known for the hippy's and the 60's summer of Love. Today it's a trendy urban fashion center. The neighborhood with it's many music and clothing store stores is a popular destination for many young people.

Upper Haight Pizza

Club Deluxe - 1509 Haight street (415) 552-6949 (MAP)
Club Deluxe is a great pizza. Club Deluxe serves pizza after 7PM on. They offer an artisan pizza like no other in the city. This is a cool place they have Jazz bands nightly and a full cocktail bar. Near the corner of Haight and Ashbury it has been a night club since 1949.

Escape from New York Pizza-1731 Haight Street (415) 668-5577 (MAP)
Escape from New York Pizza is just that a great NY slice. Next To Amoeba Records it's a great place to hit after a long shopping day. This place opened in the 80's that is the time NY pizza became popular in Northern California. It's kind of got a punk atmosphere and has many cool signed pictures of 80's stars and rockers on the wall. This place has a few tables, but it is counter service only.

Lower Haight Pizza

Mythic Pizza- 551 Haight St (415) 864-1999 (MAP)

Mythic Pizza is a good slice if you find yourself in the non tourist zone of the lower Haight. Very nice pizza thin crust. This place is a hole in the wall to grab your slice and go.
