Jason Pearce's pizzetas are by far the best
i've had in the city. pizza in the US has transmuted into this oily,
inch-layer of topping salty food. jason's pizzeta brings back the essence
of the traditional thin crust pizza of Italy. it's light and savory with a
perfect balance of ingredients. the sesame-encrusted crust has a nice
crunch at the edges and is most delicious (in fact, better than delphina's
pizza whose crust is flat-tasting in comparison). i encourage everyone to
indulge in a pizzeta at club deluxe, while also enjoying the live music. |

We walked in and I had to ask, "Do you
serve pizza?", because it didn't look any different from what Deluxe
looked like BEFORE they started serving pizza. So we stepped up to the
bar, ordered directly from the chef, and waited for our pizza in the
totally empty bar. Once the pizza arrived we could not figure out how this
place could be empty. We enjoyed some of the best pizza we've ever tried.
The crust was amazing. Super-thin, and dotted with sesame seeds. It was
totally fresh and delicious. We had the Italian sausage, white onions and
hot cherry peppers and the Andouille Sausage and Sautéed Portabella
mushrooms with fresh cilantro. Probably enough pizza for 3-4 people. |

If you consider the meat-lover's special at
Dominos exquisite pizza then you're in for a real mind-blow when you try
one of Jason's pies. And if you consider yourself a "pizza snob" (and I
know many of you do) then this pizza will most assuredly give you a reason
to be snobby. It's that good. Top-quality organic ingredients with names I
can't even pronounce, a perfect amount of cheese on a thin, light crust
made from San Francisco yeast pulled right out of the air. Gourmet may not
be the right word but it's the first one that comes to mind. It's simply
THE best pizza I've had in San Francisco and that puts it high in the
running for the best I've had anywhere, and I am a nose-in-the-air pizza
snob to be sure. The boy knows what he's doing. Double Positive. |

My friend and I went to Club Deluxe on
Friday night, because I was a winner on SFsurvey. We went to the back of
the bar and met the famous Jason for the first time. We ordered two pizzas
from him - the sliced grape tomatoes with fresh basil and italian sausage.
He personally brought the pizzas to our table with a big smile. I was very
impressed by the taste and enjoyed every bite! Two pizzas were definitely
enough and we were both very satisfied. I loved the environment and the
pizzas were great. Its too bad the band wasn't playing that night. Thanks! |

I am a great fan! The light and crispy
crust is really beyond words. The melty cheese, the sweet tomatoes, the
sesame seeds - they all work well together. That Jason is a cutey culinary
genius. There's a reason why people are raving about his pizzas, they're
Delicious with a capital D! I brought my friend and she enjoyed it as
well. She mentioned that her co-worker has been there and loved it, too. |

This is a unique set up. he only does pizza
3 nights a week and he only has 3 types but they are yummy, at least the 2
we had..tomato basil and hot pepper, onion and sausage. I really enjoy
thin crust pizza and this has whole grain, so there is real substance to
it. It was great cold the next day, which is just so important for true
pizza fans. |

Delectable pizza and divine drinks.
Adorable chef Jason served up an exquisite grape tomato/basil and an
amazingly balanced yet potent Italian sausage, onion and cherry pepper -
great combination! The crust is the perfect mix of gooey at the middle
from the toppings, to chewy farther out, and finally crisp and sesame
spotted at the edge. A good find thanks to sfsurvey (a gang of whom I ran
into while dining with their coupon from the site!) -Thanks! Overall the
dive-y Deco bar, the sweet and tatooed bartender, good pizza served by a
friendly guy in the back all make for a perfect night out. |

Went here with the SF survey gang and had a
great experience. We tried all the pizzas and they were all excellent.
Even the drinks were reasonably priced. Ingredients are fresh and I
enjoyed the crispness of the dough. Ill definitely be back! |

This is really amazing pizza! The
ingredients are so fresh and the combinations are well thought out so the
end result is really tasty but still fairly light. The chef keeps adding
new pizzas so it never gets boring eating here. I can't say enough about
these pizzas. Bands, great food and real drinks! What else need be said? |

I won a free meal here and I must say, my
friend and I really enjoyed some really great, unique pizza. They claim to
use the freshest of ingredients and we weren't disappointed. We had the
special of the day and one pizza on the regular menu. We didn't think we'd
finish both, but they were so good we couldn't help ourselves. This is not
fine dining or a major dinner destination (you order pizza at the bar - at
least we did), but if you'd like good ambience, a cool bartender to talk
to and some really good eats...you should head there - I'm glad we did. I
would definitely go back (even if I do have to pay).

went with a friend sunday night and tried
the margerita and the special pancetta roasted peppers pizza...it's damn
good pizza. it's all about the crust and the right amount of toppings. if
you love warm and toasty baguettes, you'll appreciate chef jason's yummy
creations. somehow the unexpected comes together, all the colorful
characters from the haight, gourmet pizza, beer, and bossa nova. |

Jason is a genius. Of course I love pizza,
but most pizza is so greasy and loaded with cheese and bread that it
leaves you feeling heavy and vaguely guilty after you eat it. Jason's
pizza, on the other hand, all but floats off the pan and contains the
perfect amounts of cheese and wonderful organic ingredients. I ate an
entire pizza (12") without a twinge of guilt. I'll definitely be back. |

This is some of the best thin crust pizza
I've ever had. It's also great fun to walk into the kitchen and order your
pizzas straight from Jason. He told us that the sesame seeded crust is a
traditional Sicilian touch that he learned while visiting family there --
yum! Three of us shared two pizzas, and it was perfect for a light, late
evening meal. |

VERY tasty crusts on these pizzas. My
dining companion is not much of a crust person, so I had to steal hers,
they were so good. The fantastic sesame flavor of the crust really
accompanies the pizzas very well. I tried both the tomatoes with basil,
and portabella mushrooms with cilantro. Even without the sausage (I asked
him to leave it off) the portabella mushrooms with cilantro was FANTASTIC.
I'm drooling over it as I type. I'm definitely going back. The place is
incredibly friendly and well worth the trip. |

Ditto all the positive reviews on Jason
Pearce's pizzettas. It's distinctly San Francisco -- with organic gourmet
ingredients and wild San Francisco yeast. I have all confidence that
Pearce will put San Francisco pizza on the charts right up there with New
York pizza. |

Jason Pearce makes excellent pizzas at Club
Deluxe and I would highly recommend an intimate evening there. Funky,
unpretentious describes the club's atmosphere. The bar is cool, and the
booths are cozy. I love the thin crust pizzettas that Jason Pearce turns
out in the kitchen...think and chewy and the ends are really tasty. The
toppings are also really interesting and not too heavy. My friend and I
shared two pizzas and had drinks. It was a perfect evening. |

Where else can you have a martini with your
pizza? I enjoyed walking into the kitchen and seeing Jason at work, making
our pizza. We had the Grape tomatoes and Andouille Sausage pizzas. The
sesame seeds are a nice touch. I would like to request a "Nicoise" style
with thinly sliced anchovies and olives like they serve out of the Pizza
vans in Nice. I recommend going on a Sunday when an relaxing Brazilian
band is playing. |

This is an exceptional thin crust pizza!
Actually the best I've had. A true pizza crust, rather than a cracker-y
one, cooked perfectly, rimmed with sesame seeds, and topped with great
fresh ingredients. Not bar food, but a real gourmet pizza. The chef has
created something quite amazing, in an unlikely location, but I like being
able to order a cocktail with my pizza :) |

If you want delicious pizza, with pride and
care as the first ingredient, followed closely by fresh ingredients and a
gorgeously thin hand made crust, then you NEED Chef Jason's pizzeta. No
if's, no but's, it is the best thing to happen to pizza in San Francisco.
When you're tired of the same old greasy, soggy mess you are used too (and
you know you are), you'll make the effort to go see Jason and his pizzeta
at Club Deluxe. And you'll thank yourself that you did. Thanks for the
memories for my taste buds Jason, can't wait ´till next time. |

I went to Club Deluxe for the pizzetta. It
was soooo good. The pizza's are not greasy and have the most delicious
crust and toppings. Everything was fresh and the Chef Jason was extremely
friendly. I don't know what's different about the pizza but it is not your
average pizza - even the cheese was delicious and flavorful. I have
recommended this place to a lot of people and can't wait to eat there
again. |

Sometimes in San Francisco great food can
come from unlikely venues, this is the case with Club Deluxe and Pizzetta.
The club has been a Haight Street fixture for 17 years offering live music
and cocktails in an authentic art deco setting. Now pizza chef Jason
Pearce has joined the team turning out high quality creative thin crust
pies. The crust is thin crisp organic sour dough with sesame seeds and the
toppings, like the sautéed portabella mushrooms with fresh cilantro, are
quite tasty. Everyone in our party ordered their own individual pizzetta
($12-14) and shared. It’s a unique casual place to meet friends for drinks
and fresh gourmet pizza, go early if you wish to avoid the crowd and the
noise. They open at 7pm and the bands usually start at 10pm. Pizza is only
offered Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sunday for now. Enjoy!

Thin on Crust & Thick on Taste,
my pizza photos below. This is a must try pizza if you love thin crust.
Each pizza had a bouquet of flavor, all coming from fresh ingredients,
meticulous arranged and displayed on a circular canvas we call crust, OK
you might be thinking I've gone off the deep end, but this pizza is as
close to art, as pizza can be, let me tell you why. Chef Jason Pearce has
created a superb thin crust pizza, with get this, ORGANIC flour and WILD
San Francisco Yeast. This is yeast that is unique to San Francisco. The
yeast is actually in the air, I swear this is true, in-fact this is why
San Francisco [Sour dough] bread is so famous, and now Chef Jason Pearce
has taken this special bread makers knowledge and applied it to pizza
making. For example to give HIGHTENED Flavor, Jason use’s naturally sweet
Organic Grape Tomatoes, and just before serving, he cuts the fresh Basil
to top the pizza. Definitively Unique, Fresh and Tasty pizza is now
minutes away. |
